Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday extended Nuakhai greetings to the people of the state, describing the agrarian festival as a symbol of Odisha’s soil, culture, traditions and social unity.
In a video message posted on social media platform X, Majhi said, “My Nuakhai Juhar to all,” and urged people to set aside differences, bitterness and ego on the auspicious occasion and uphold the tradition of offering “Juhar-Mundia” to elders and gurus while showering love and blessings on the younger generation.
“Nuakhai is not just a festival; it is the very heartbeat of our soil, culture, traditions, and social unity,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the tradition strengthens family, social and fraternal bonds.
Majhi also called upon students, youth, workers, farmers and soldiers to fulfil their respective duties towards building a ‘Samruddha Odisha’ by 2036 and a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
He prayed that Maa Samalei bless everyone with happiness, peace, progress and success, and concluded his message with “Nuakhai Juhar to all” and “Jai Maa Samalei.”
