Bhubaneswar: In a significant recognition of administrative excellence, Bhadrak district has secured the 1st Rank among all 30 districts of Odisha for its ‘Overall Performance in Revenue Administration.’
The district was awarded the prestigious Certificate of Excellence during the two-day Revenue Officers’ Conference-cum-Workshop, held on June 4 and 5 at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar.
The event, organised for the first time by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, witnessed participation from key field-level functionaries including Tahasildars, Sub-Collectors, and ADMs (Revenue) from across Odisha.
The inaugural session was graced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the crucial role played by revenue officers in public service delivery and the implementation of the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA). He lauded their dedication in strengthening grassroots governance and ensuring timely service delivery.
The assessment of district-level performance was based on two key parameters:
- Effective implementation and service delivery under the ORTPSA, and
- Progress in Column 2 correction of the Record of Rights (RoR) — a critical step in maintaining accurate land records to ensure transparency and ease of service to citizens.
Bhadrak district emerged as the top performer in both categories, demonstrating notable efficiency and commitment in streamlining revenue administration.
The award was received by ADM (Revenue) Santanu Kumar Mohanty on behalf of Collector Dilip Routrai, in the presence of a team of revenue officials from Bhadrak.
This recognition marks a proud moment for the district and sets a benchmark in public service delivery, record management, and administrative transparency in the state.
