Bhubaneswar: The Bhadrak Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Kumar Rout on Sunday suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sushanta Nayak of Bhadrak Town Police Station on charges of dereliction of duty.
According to reports, ASI Nayak had been serving at the Town Police Station for nearly two years. However, his performance was reportedly unsatisfactory throughout his tenure. Despite multiple warnings and reprimands from the inspector in-charge of the station, Nayak allegedly failed to discharge his duties responsibly. Taking serious note of his continued negligence, SP Rout issued his suspension order on Sunday.
In a similar action earlier this week, on October 9, SP Rout suspended Sub-Inspector Kartik Jena of Bhadrak Rural Police Station. Jena was accused of gross misconduct after allegedly instructing a local youth to impersonate a police officer and investigate a case in Rasikabag village under Bhadrak Rural Police limits.
