Bhadrak: A young man was brutally killed by a group of five miscreants at Gunthunia village under Sadar police station in Bhadrak district on Sunday late night.
The deceased has been identified as Srikumar Swami, a resident of Charampa Railway Colony in Bhadrak.
According to reports, Srikumar was watching the cricket T20 final match on television at his home when he received a phone call and stepped out to Gunthunia market. There, he was attacked with sharp weapons by the group. Despite locals being present, no one intervened. He was later rushed to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where he was declared dead.
The attackers are suspected to be involved in various incidents. The attackers remain unidentified as of now.
Meanwhile, police have seized the body and launched an investigation into the killing. Police are probing the circumstances and motive behind the murder.
