Bhubaneswar: In view of the proposed All India General Strike on Thursday, called by central trade unions, sectoral associations, and banking federations, the Odisha Home Department has directed all government departments to take necessary precautions to ensure security at key government buildings.
According to the advisory, employees of government departments working in Lok Seva Bhawan, Kharavela Bhawan, Rajiv Bhawan, Krushi Bhawan, and Heads of Department Building are advised to reach their offices by 9:30 AM on February 12.
The following security measures will be implemented:
– The front gates of Lok Seva Bhawan will be closed at 10:15 AM, and entry will be regulated through the rear gate.
– Security checks of identity cards and passes will be intensified.
– Entry of visitors will be restricted, and prior appointments will be required for entry.
– Employees are advised to remain at their desks and attend to their duties without undue movement.
In case of any untoward incident, officials can contact the Additional Secretary, Home Department, or the Additional DCP, Secretariat Security.
The strike is expected to affect various sectors, with protests, road blockades, and closure of mines, factories, government offices, educational institutions, banks, and business centers across the country.
