Odisha Govt Disburses Rs 208.35 Crore Interest Subvention To Women SHGs

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday released interest subvention of Rs 208.35 crore in favour of loans availed by over 2.67 lakh women Self-Help Groups (SHGs).Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who holds charge of the Mission Shakti Department, disbursed the amount at a special event here.

She also distributed additional financial support, including Rs 6.43 crore as Revolving Fund to 3,510 SHGs, Rs 57.05 crore as Community Investment Fund to 180 Gram Panchayat Level Federations (GPLFs), and Rs 1.40 crore to 101 Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) under the Vulnerability Reduction Fund.Addressing the gathering, Parida said women in Odisha are no longer mere beneficiaries but have become key drivers of the state’s social and economic progress.

“Earlier, the focus was on how to uplift women. Today, they are at the forefront of the state’s development journey,” she remarked.Parida emphasised that as SHG members become economically stronger and self-reliant, they are laying a strong foundation for a developed and prosperous Odisha.

She urged women to utilise government-provided financial resources effectively, reinvest earnings wisely, improve financial literacy, and stay alert against rising cyber frauds.

The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted virtually with SHG members and officials from districts including Koraput, Balasore, Kalahandi, Ganjam, and Keonjhar. She reviewed the on-ground implementation of schemes and verified whether interest subvention benefits were reaching the intended groups.

She further engaged with Bank Mitras, Krushi Mitras, Pashu Mitras, and other grassroots functionaries to assess the effectiveness of programme delivery.Officials informed that during the financial year 2025-26, the state government has so far reimbursed a total of Rs 724.39 crore as interest subvention to 3.80 lakh SHGs.
