Bhubaneswar: A team from the Crime Branch will take Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) Dinakrushna Mishra and four other police officers of Bharatpur police station to Gujarat for a polygraph test in connection with the alleged torture of an Indian Army officer and his fiancée at Bharatpur police station.
According to sources, the suspended IIC and four other suspended police officers will undergo polygraph tests, brain mapping, and narco-analysis in Gujarat.
The four other suspended officers are Sub-Inspector Baisalini Panda, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Salilamayee Sahoo and Sagarika Rath, and Constable Balaram Handa. They will also undergo polygraph tests in Gujarat.
The tests were approved by the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar, following a plea by the Crime Branch.
The court noted that since the incident occurred within the police station without eyewitnesses, scientific methodology may help uncover the truth.
According to legal experts, if Mishra passes the narco-analysis, the complainant may face lie detection, polygraph, and narcoanalysis tests.
