Bhubaneswar: The wait is finally over for wildlife enthusiasts and tourists as the Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district is scheduled to reopen its gates to visitors on August 1, after a three-month closure. The park was closed for crocodile breeding and other conservation efforts.
Tourists can explore the park’s stunning natural beauty, spotting saltwater crocodiles, and enjoying boat rides through the mangrove-covered waterways. The forest department has completed the final stages of preparations to welcome visitors and ensure a smooth experience.
Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature in Bhitarkanika, spot white crocodile species, and birds, and take a boat ride in the river or walk on the skywalk. The reopening of the park has created excitement among tourists, and local businesses, including boat hotels, travel agencies, and tourist guides, are gearing up to cater to the requirements of visitors.
The National Park remained off-limits to tourists from May 1 to July 31 for the breeding season of the saltwater crocodiles. The closure aimed to protect the reptiles from human disturbance during their nesting period.
