Bhubaneswar: A nationwide high alert has been issued following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, prompting heightened security measures across India. Major cities, including Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai, have intensified security arrangements, with a special focus on key public areas such as railway stations.
In Bhubaneswar, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a flag march at the railway station to raise public awareness and ensure vigilance. Authorities are urging citizens to report any suspicious individuals or objects to the Government Railway Police (GRP) or RPF immediately. The RPF has also advised the public to notify them of any suspicious activities without delay.
At Bhubaneswar railway station, RPF personnel were seen conducting thorough checks using handheld metal detectors. All passenger luggage is being scanned, and bags are subject to detailed inspections. Public address systems are being used to alert travelers to remain vigilant. Similar security checks are being enforced at railway stations and public spaces nationwide.
Meanwhile, security forces have received intelligence indicating that the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack may be hiding in nearby forests. In response, security personnel in Kashmir are conducting extensive search operations. Security has also been strengthened along the Line of Control (LOC) to prevent further incidents.
The government has called on citizens to stay alert and cooperate with authorities to ensure public safety during this period of heightened tension.
