Bhubaneswar: The daily case count of new Covid-19 positives from Bhubaneswar breached the 1,000 mark as the city registered 1055 cases in the last 24 hours (till 9 AM today), a 31.38% increase over the previous day.
The city currently has 5552 active cases against 4622 on Wednesday, a 20.12% rise.
A staggering 1001 (94.88%) of the new 1055 Covid cases detected in the city are local contact cases, while the remaining 54 are quarantine cases.
No new fatalities due to Covid-19 were reported /confirmed from the city and the death toll currently stands at 1103.
