Puri: In a tragic accident, Sarpanch of Bira Ramachandrapur panchayat under Satyabadi block of Puri district Deepa Behera was killed after the motorcycle she was riding was hit from the rear by a dumper truck near Delta Chowk on Nimapara-Balanga road today.
According to reports, the truck after hitting Deepa’s motorcycle ran over her head causing instantaneous death. She was returning home after attending a wedding feast along with two of her relatives when the accident occurred. However, her relatives had a narrow escape and sustained minor injuries.
While the driver of the truck fled the spot, Nimapara police seized the vehicle.
