Bhubaneswar: Advocate Biraja Shankar Mishra on Wednesday assumed charge as a Member of the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
Mishra formally took charge at the OHRC office at Toshali Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. OHRC Chairman Justice Satrughana Pujahari and Member Chittaranjan Mahapatra welcomed him with bouquets. Other officials of the Commission were also present on the occasion and extended their greetings to the newly appointed member.
Mishra, a prominent advocate from Kendujhar district, has been practising law for nearly four decades. He became a member of the Odisha Bar Council in 1993 and has since been actively engaged in legal practice.
With Mishra assuming charge as a Member, all posts in the Odisha Human Rights Commission have now been filled. The Commission already had Chairman Justice Satrughana Pujahari and Member Chittaranjan Mahapatra.
