Bhubaneswar: A delegation of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today submitted a memorandum to the State Election Commission (SEC) demanding strict action against Congress MLA from Jeypore Tara Prasad Bahinipati for violation of Model Code of Conduct.
The 9-member delegation led by BJD Spokesperson Lenin Mohanty has alleged that Bahinipati has violated the Model Code of Conduct guidelines by threatening government officials inside the Koraput Municipality.
The delegation has also alleged that Bahinipati had threatened to destroy the municipality office after two days if the officials failed to get his work done.
The Model Code of Conduct is in force in the State for the upcoming polls to the urban local bodies (ULBs).
