Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday announced the appointment of presidents for six of its organizational units.
State Returning Officer Pratap Keshari Deb issued the appointments through an official notification. Senior leader Ashok Chandra Panda has been named president of the Bhubaneswar organizational unit.
Ashish Chakraborty has been appointed president of the Keonjhar district unit, while Pradyumna Tripathy will head the Rourkela unit. Dr. Debashis Marandi has been entrusted with leadership of the Mayurbhanj-2 unit.
Additionally, Rohit Pujari and Saroj Kumar Meher will serve as presidents of the Sambalpur and Bolangir district units, respectively.
The BJD had earlier announced the names of 18 district presidents on April 15 as part of its broader organizational overhaul.
