Bhubaneswar: All candidates of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), who have been nominated for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election, filed their nominations at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
BJD supremo-cum- Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has nominated – Sulata Deo, Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, Sasmit Patra, and Niranjan Bishi to fill the vacant seats in the Rajya Sabha from Odisha.
This will be a consecutive second term for the party’s spokesperson Patra, while the remaining three will be first-timers to the Upper House of the Parliament.
As per an earlier notification issued by the Secretariat of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, the scrutinisation of nomination papers will be held at 11.30 am on June 1. Withdrawal of nomination papers can be done till 3 pm on June 3.
The voting, if necessary, will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on June 10 in Room Number 54 of the Secretariat.
