Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today revoked the expulsion of former minister and veteran leader Damodar Rout with ‘immediate effect’
Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik revoked the expulsion order. The party informed it through an official communiqué signed by Patnaik.
The expulsion order of Dr Damodar Rout is hereby revoked with immediate effect,” an official order issued by the BJD stated.
Rout was expelled from the ruling party in 2018 after he leveled series of allegations of financial irregularities in various government departments.
He had joined the BJP in 2019 and also contested election from Erasama-Balikuda Assembly seat on the party ticket unsuccessfully.
In the same year, he had stepped down from the primary membership of the BJP.
