Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is celebrating its 27th Foundation Day on Tuesday. On this occasion, the party has planned several events including public meetings, blood donation camps, cycle rallies, plantation drives, etc.
Programmes will be conducted at all district headquarters and Assembly constituencies, keeping in view the 2024 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Special programmes are scheduled to be held near Biju Patnaik’s statue near the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar and BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s birthplace at Anand Bhawan in Cuttack.
On this occasion, BJD workers will take a pledge to facilitate the creation of ‘Nabin Odisha’.
This year’s Foundation Day programme assumes importance as it is being celebrated less than a year before the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, which the BJD aims to win with a thumping majority.
