Bhubaneswar: The BJP and BJD have set aside the speculation of an alliance in Odisha. Both parties have expressed confidence in forming government in the State independently.
A day after the Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal denied the alliance talks, party’s poll in-charge Vijayapal Singh Tomar today echoed a similar voice saying that there is no possibility of alliance in the State. He said that he spoke to the national president JP Nadda regarding the matter.
Tomar said that it is the BJD that is spreading the false propaganda.
Samal last night also said the party will not enter into any alliance with the BJD and it will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha and state assembly elections alone.
Samal visited Delhi to discuss with the central leadership about the candidates for the 21 Lok Sabha seats and 147 assembly seats in the state.
“We will fight independently and try to form the government on our own,” said Samal.
In a similar style, BJD also ruled out the alliance with BJP. Party spokesperson and MP Sasmit Patra said at a press meet refuted the media reports. He alleged that BJP is spreading rumors. Some BJP leaders are promoting rumors on social media.
“I do not understand why the BJP is making such rumors. BJP does not have eligible candidates to contest polls from all constituencies. BJP is embracing anti-people leaders. BJP is embracing those who have no future in BJD,” he said.
Patra said that 4.5 crore people of the state have already set their mid to make Naveen Patnaik chief minister for the sixth term.
