Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has devised a robust strategy to secure victory in the upcoming Nuapada by-election by assigning eight cabinet Ministers to oversee eight zones in the constituency.
The Ministers tasked with leading the campaign are Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik for Banjari zone, Forest Minister Ganesh R Singhkhuntia for Sunadei zone, Fisheries And Animal Resources Minister Gokulananda Mallik for Pataleswar zone, Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra for Jayajangha zone, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena for Konabhaira zone, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond for Jogeswar zone, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling for Nuapada NAC, and Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra for Khariar Road NAC.
It is pertinent to mention that the by-election process is progressing, with the scrutiny of nomination papers completed on Wednesday. Out of 19 aspirants, five nominations were rejected, leaving 14 candidates in the fray, including six from political parties and eight independents. October 24 is set as the last date for withdrawal of nominations, after which the final candidate list will be published.
Voting is scheduled for November 11, with counting and results to be announced on November 14.
