Bhubaneswar: Family members of Dilip Pahan, who was killed in poll violence at Khallikote, have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

The state wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party invited Dilip’s family to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the CM.

Notably, the violence took place at Srikrushnasaranpur village under Khallikote police limits in the district on May 16.

It is pertinent to mention that supporters of both the saffron party and Biju Janata Dal engaged in a deadly clash over putting up of election posters. Their fight turned so bitter that it claimed the life of Dilip. The poll violence also left eight others injured.

Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also condemned the act of violence.
