Bhubaneswar: Jay Dholakia, the newly elected BJP MLA from Nuapada, will take oath of office and secrecy today.
Surama Padhy of Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly will administer the oath to Dholakia, who won the by-election with a huge margin, defeating BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria and Congress’s Ghasiram Majhi.
Dholakia’s victory came after the seat fell vacant following the death of his father, Rajendra Dholakia, who was the sitting MLA. The by-election was held on November 11, and Dholakia emerged victorious with a significant lead on November 24.
