Khurda: The Tangi police recovered the body of a four-year-old boy from a water body in a stone quarry near Ujjala Gopinathpur village in Odisha’s Khurda district on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Soumya Ranjan, has been missing for the last five days.
According to reports, Soumya went missing while he was playing outside his home on November 17. When his family failed to trace the boy’s whereabouts even after an intensive search, his father Subash Pradhan filed a missing diary at the Bhusundpur police outpost.
After receiving the complaint, the police launched a search for the missing child. On Tuesday evening, the police detained some local youths on suspicion and they revealed the whereabouts of Soumya Ranjan during interrogation.
Later, the police recovered the body of the boy from a stone quarry near his village. Soumya’s family has alleged that the boy was murdered and has demanded the arrest of the culprits.
