Body Of Unidentified Youth

Bhubaneswar: The body of an unidentified youth, with his head brutally crushed, was found near an under-construction road close to Defence Colony in the Sailashree Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Monday.

According to police, the victim’s head appeared to have been smashed with a heavy object, possibly a stone or an iron rod, suggesting a violent attack.

“We are trying to establish the identity of the deceased and the assailants. The motive behind the murder will be known only after the arrest of the accused,” said Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh while briefing the media.

This is the second brutal murder reported in Bhubaneswar on the same day. Earlier, in the Khandagiri area, an outsourced employee of AIIMS Bhubaneswar was allegedly shot dead by his cousin over a property dispute.

The area surrounding the Sailashree Vihar crime scene is teeming with construction activity, prompting police to suspect that the deceased might have been associated with one of the ongoing projects. Police are questioning workers and supervisors at nearby construction sites as part of the investigation.

Local residents have expressed concern over the incident and urged authorities to enhance security measures in the area to prevent such crimes in the future.
