Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested Puspangini Joshi, Gender Coordinator in the office of the District Project Co-ordinator (Samagra Sikhya), Bolangir, while demanding and accepting Rs 31,000 bribe from a complainant who is a headmaster and former hostel in-charge for adjustment/approval of utilisation certificate and issuance of clearance certificate in his favour.
The entire bribe amount of Rs 31,000 has been recovered and seized from Joshi.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at three locations linked to Joshi from the disproportionate asset (DA) angle.
A case has been registered in this connection at the Sambalpur Vigilance police station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation into the case is underway against the accused.
