Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday apprehended Harihar Swain, Forester, Sindhekela Beat under Bangomunda Forest Range of Bolangir district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.1,00,300.
Swain had allegedly demanded the money from laborers working under different projects of the Forest Department. The entire bribe money has been recovered from Sri Swain and seized.
A case in this regard has been registered under section 7 (b) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 at Sambalpur Vigilance Police Station.
Further cash of Rs 1,72,550 was recovered during searches being carried out at the houses and property associated with Swain.
