Bhubaneswar: Three courts in Cuttack and Sambalpur districts were put on high alert after bomb threats were received via email, prompting evacuations and thorough searches by police and security agencies.
According to reports, the District Judge’s Court and Orissa High Court in Cuttack were evacuated following the bomb threats, with metal detectors, bomb squads and sniffer dogs deployed to sweep the premises. Similarly, Sambalpur court premises were secured with intensive searches underway.
However, no explosives were found at either location. Police are investigating the source of the emails and probing possible links between the threats.
Meanwhile, an email claiming 3 RDX devices were in Deogarh District Court has been received. The identity of the sender remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the threat.
The situation was being closely monitored, and precautions were being taken to ensure the safety of people in and around the court areas. Further updates were expected as the probe is in progress.
