Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants hurled crude bomb at a private engineering college under Airfield police limits in the capital city triggering tension in the area on Saturday night. According to reports, some students sustained injuries in the bomb attack.

While the police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the bombing, initial probe hints at old rivalry.  According to reports, rivalry persisted between two student groups in the college – one from Odisha and the other from Bihar. The rivalry intensified between the two groups on Saturday night and one group resorted to bombing.

The miscreants hurled the bombs when one group of the students was leaving their hostel in a bus.

One group of students lodged an FIR at the Airfield police station following which the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
