Bhubaneswar: Boudh block in Odisha’s Boudh district received the highest rainfall of 390.6 mm in the state during the last 24 hours, while the average rainfall in the state from 01.08.2023 to 02.08.2023 was 109.4 mm against the August monthly average of 3556.0 mm.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), four blocks in the state recorded more than 300 mm of rainfall during the last 24 hours. These districts are Boudh (390.6 mm), Karanjia in Mayurbhanj district (300.6 mm), and Jujumura, and Rairakhol in Sambalpur district (361.8 mm and 348 mm respectively).
Similarly, 17 blocks in Odisha recorded more than 200 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. These blocks are Athamalik- 232.0 mm & Kishorenagar- 230.0 mm of Angul district; Duduka- 223.4 mm of Bolangir district; Phiringia- 219.2 mm, Baliguda- 210.0 mm, Nuagaon- 206.4 mm & Phulbani- 205.6 mm of Kandhamal district; Saharpada- 276.8 mm and Patna – 220.2 mm of Keonjhar district; Thakurmunda- 218.0 mm, Joshipur- 217.2 mm, Raruana- 210.0 mm and Sukuruli- 208.6 mm of Mayurbhanj district; Birmaharajpur- 272.4 mm, Ullunda- 262.0 mm, Binika- 227.2 mm and Dunguripali- 210.0 mm of Sonepur district.
At the same time, 67 blocks in the state received more than 100 mm of rainfall during the period.
