Koraput: The bridge over Chaberi river in Koraput district is under cosntruction for three years now. Due to the absence of a bridge here, the people of Haradaguda village in Boriguma block in Jeypore assembly segment are facing serious inconveniences.
The situation worsens in case of medical emergencies and floods compounds the problems of the villagers. People carrying patients on stretchers through the river is a regular affair in rainy season.
The locals complained that the work of the bridge on Chaberi river is taking unpreceedented time to complete. It has been three years, only 50% of the work is over, the villagers said.
Repeated pleas before elected representatives and district officials have fallen in deaf ears, they added. In the video along with this story, a woman afflicted with fever is being taken to the local community health centre through neck deep water, in Chaberi river.
