Koraput: A second-year BTech student allegedly died by suicide in her hostel room at Gopal Krushna College of Engineering & Technology in Raniput, Jeypore, on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as 20-year-old Sukal Bhatra, was found hanging in her room (No. 17) around 2:00 PM, according to college authorities.
Himanshu Sekhar Nahak, the college’s Administrative Officer, reported the incident to Jeypore Sadar Police Station.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances behind the tragic incident.
