Bhubaneswar: A bus overturned after losing balance near Burukuna Square on National Highway 149 under Samal police station limits in Anugola district on Tuesday.
The bus, carrying more than 50 passengers from Puri to Sundargarh, met with the accident while on its way. Over 25 passengers sustained injuries, out of which six are reported to be in serious condition.
Upon receiving information, fire services and 108 ambulances rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. The injured were first taken to Khamar Community Health Centre and later shifted to Anugola District Headquarters Hospital.
The critically injured passengers were further referred to hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, police have reached the accident site and are investigating the exact cause of the mishap.
