Bus Overturns On NH-16 Near Khordha; Over 30 Injured

Khordha: At least seven people were seriously injured and more than 30 others sustained injuries when a private bus, ‘Nilakantha,’ overturned on National Highway-16 near Pitapalli in Khordha district on Sunday afternoon.

The mishap occurred around 2 pm on the Khordha-Berhampur stretch of the highway.

According to reports, the bus was traveling from Bhubaneswar to Aska in Ganjam district when the driver lost control near Pitapalli, collided with the road divider, and overturned.

Upon being informed, Silpanchal Police personnel and the Khordha Fire Brigade promptly arrived at the scene, attended to the injured, and transported them to a nearby medical facility.

The police have also initiated an investigation into the incident.
