Bhubaneswar: The All Odisha Bus Owners’ Association (AOBOA) has withdrawn its call for a statewide bus strike scheduled to begin on December 1.

The decision follows the state government’s clarification that it has not granted additional motor vehicle checking powers to the police.

Earlier, the association had warned of halting services, citing concerns over potential harassment and disruption.

AOBOA general secretary Debendra Kumar Sahu stated that the government’s assurance has eased operators’ fears, and discussions with the Transport Department confirmed that no decision has been made regarding additional powers for the police.
