Capital Hospital Newborn Swapping Case: Blood Sample Collected For DNA Matching

Bhubaneswar: Blood samples of the mother and newborn were collected by Capital Hospital authorities today for DNA matching in connection with the alleged baby swapping case.

The blood sample was collected as per court norms in the presence of police.

Capital Hospital authorities have handed over the collected samples to the police. The samples have been sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for DNA sampling.

Earlier the parents of the baby girl had filed an affidavit expressing their willingness to give blood samples for DNA matching.

The DNA sampling report will be available within 10 days and will be submitted to the court by the police.

Worth mentioning one Pranakrushna Biswal had alleged newborn swapping at Capital Hospital.

Biswal had also filed a complaint at the Capital Police Station in this connection.
