Puri: Entry of smartphones will be strictly banned inside the Shree Jagannath Temple here.
Neither sevayats (temple servitors) nor officers of the temple administration will be allowed to carry smartphones inside the Shree Jagannath Temple. However, sevayats and officers will be allowed to use feature phones.
“In an important decision taken at today’s meeting neither sevayats nor officers will be allowed to carry smartphones inside the temple from January 1,” informed Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) VV Yadav speaking to reporters here today.
The decision was taken at the Chhattisa Nijog meeting today, Yadav added.
The SJTA Chief Administrator informed that a meeting of the Niti Sub-Committee was also held today.
“The timings of the Pahili Bhog ritual to be held from December 16 up to January 14 was finalized at the Niti Sub-Committee meeting held today,” he said.
