Bhubaneswar: The Centre has accepted the resignation of Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena, formally ending the 2013-batch IPS officer’s service, officials said on Thursday.
Meena had tendered his resignation citing personal reasons. The Odisha government’s Home Department examined his request and subsequently forwarded it to the Union Home Ministry along with the required documents for approval.
With the Centre accepting the resignation, Meena’s exit from the Indian Police Service has now been formally completed.
During his career in Odisha, Meena served as superintendent of police in several districts, including Cuttack, Ganjam and Malkangiri. He handled law-and-order responsibilities, crime control and anti-Maoist operations during his various postings.
As Bhubaneswar DCP, Meena was involved in police action against cybercrime and drug trafficking in the state capital.
His resignation marks the end of his tenure in the IPS after more than a decade of service in Odisha.
