Centre Appoints Two Odisha Officers To Indian Administrative Service

Bhubaneswar: Two members of the Non-State Civil Service of Odisha have been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service, as per a notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on Friday (November 28, 2025). The President of India has appointed both officers.

Sundara Madhaba Padhi (born July 20, 1979) and Smita Pani (born December 22, 1974) have been allocated to the Odisha Cadre and are on probation until further orders. Their appointments are against vacancies determined by the Government of India for the Select List of 2024.

The appointments were made in exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 8(2) of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and other relevant regulations.
