Bhubaneswar: The Government of India has approved procurement of pulses (Green Gram, Black Gram) and oilseeds (Sunflower, Groundnut, Mustard) under the Price Support Scheme for Rabi 2025–26, following a virtual meeting between Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Deputy Chief Minister, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.
The initiative will ensure remunerative prices to farmers and strengthen procurement systems across the State. Special emphasis will be given to boosting sunflower production in Western Odisha, particularly in Kalahandi district.
The State Government will ensure transparent and timely procurement through continuous monitoring during the season, reinforcing its commitment to farmer welfare and income support.
