CEO Orders For Transfer Of Choudwar IIC, SI

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha has ordered for transfer of the Inspector In Charge (IIC) and Sub Inspector (SI) of Choudwar police station within 24 hours for for sharing dais with political leaders in violation of service rules related to elections.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer N Thirumala Nayak, in a letter to Commissioner, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack and Cuttack DCP on Friday, ordered to transfer Choudwar IIC Biswaranjan Sahoo and SI Saraswati Swain out of the constituency. The two police officers have been also asked to submit the compliance letter of the order within 24 hours.

The CEO’s order came in the wake of a complaint filed by BJP leaders against the IIC and the SI. The duo had allegedly addressed an election meeting organised by BJD in Athgarh Assembly constituency in Cuttack district recently.
