Bhubaneswar: Police in Chhattisgarh have filed a case against Vishal Das, son of former Odisha Minister Naba Das, and 12 other PRI members from Jharsuguda district.
The Sareipali police registered the case under sections 331(4) and 191(2) based on a complaint filed by the manager of Hotel Radhika Inn. Later, they were released after being served a notice under section 35(B).
The manager alleged that Das and others trespassed and vandalized the hotel property. According to reports, 15 people, including Das, were staying in nine rooms at the hotel without valid identity cards. They were found vandalizing the property on Thursday night and were detained by the police.
The detained individuals were scheduled to participate in a no-confidence motion against the Kirmira block chairperson in Jharsuguda district but were unable to attend due to their detention. Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik wrote to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, seeking his intervention for the early release of the panchayat representatives.
