Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has placed Chandbali Block Development Officer (BDO) Sanjib Kumar Mahapatra under suspension with immediate effect.
The Revenue and Disaster Management Department issued an office order to this effect on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
According to the order, a disciplinary proceeding is contemplated against Mahapatra. “Therefore, the services of Sri Sanjib Kumar Mahapatra is hereby withdrawn from PR & DW Department and the Governor of Odisha, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-rule (1) of Rule-12 of OCS (CC&A) Rules, 1962 hereby places the said Sri Sanjib Kumar Mahapatra under suspension with immediate effect,” the order read.
During the suspension period, his headquarters will be at the Collectorate, Bhadrak and he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the Collector, Bhadrak. He will be entitled to payment of subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule-90 of Odisha Service Code.
The order was issued by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government by order of the Governor.
