Koraput: A 26-year-old youth died of electrocution during Bahuda Yatra at Kolab Nagar in Koraput district today.
According to reports, while the pulling of the chariot was underway, its flag (dhwaja) came in contact with a live overhead electric wire.
The deceased identified as Babula Nayak of Kolab Nagar who was in charge of the braking system of the chariot received severe shock following the incident.
Nayak was rushed to Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital here. However, he was declared dead by the attending doctors at the hospital.
Another youth Krishna Rao also received an electric shock and was critically injured in the incident.
In a similar incident, 2 persons died in Keonjhar after the chariot came in contact with a live electricity wire.
