Koraput: Sadar police in Jeypore seized the charred body of a person near a mango tree on the Brahmanigaon road in Koraput district, on Thursday night.
Police are investigating to ascertain the identity of the deceased.
According to Police Sub-Ins Pankajini Sabar, a local child spotted the body being burnt and informed his family members about it. By the time they reached the spot, the body was completely burnt.
Police have found a bottle near the body and are investigating the cause of death. The actual circumstances surrounding the death will be revealed after the investigation is complete, Sabar said.
