Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance Department on Saturday launched simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Sita Ram Patro, Block Education Officer (BEO) of Chhatrapur in Ganjam district on allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to known source of income.
Five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), four Inspectors, five Sub-Inspectors/Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and other supporting staff conducted searches based on search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Berhampur.
The Odisha Vigilance Department conducted searches at six locations including Patro’s residential buildings and flat at Ramakrushna Nagar and Khordhasingh in Berhampur, two buildings at Kolisahi in Ganjam, a relative’s house in Kalinganagar in Berhampur and the BEO office in Chhatrapur in Ganjam.
The search is still in progress, and further details are awaited.
