Motorcyclist Dies In Rear-End Collision With Iron-Laden Truck On NH-53 In Bargarh

Bhubaneswar: A 35-year-old motorcyclist died after he was hit from behind by a speeding iron-laden truck on National Highway 53 at Atabira in Bargarh district.

The deceased has been identified as Kulamani Suna (35), a resident of Belmundapada near Godbhaga under Atabira area.

According to reports, the incident occurred late on Tuesday night. Kulamani was riding his motorcycle towards Bargarh when, near Atabira Cinema Hall when truck rammed into his bike from the rear with tremendous force. The impact was so severe that Suna was thrown off his motorcycle and sustained critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to the Atabira Community Health Centre in a serious condition.

As his health deteriorated, he was shifted to VIMSAR (Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research) in Burla for advanced treatment. However, doctors at VIMSAR declared him dead on arrival.

The Atabira police have registered a case and seized the iron-laden truck. Investigation into the exact cause of the accident, including the speed and condition of the truck, is underway.
