Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has congratulated ace gymnast Tapan Mohanty for his outstanding achievement at the ongoing Junior & Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championships 2026–27, being held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
In a post on his official X handle, CM Majhi lauded Mohanty for winning the All-Around Champion title in the Senior Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) category.
The Chief Minister also praised the gymnast’s stellar performance, which has helped the Odisha team qualify for the final of the Senior MAG Team Championship.
“Heartiest congratulations to Tapan Mohanty for bringing glory to Odisha by becoming the ‘All-Around Champion’ in the ‘Senior MAG’ category at the Junior and Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championships 2026–27 being held at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. His remarkable performance has taken the Odisha team to the final of the ‘Senior MAG Team Championship’. Wishing Tapan a bright future and extending my best wishes to the Odisha team for the final match,” CM Majhi wrote.
It is pertinent to mention that Tapan Mohanty emerged as all-around champion in the Senior MAG category with an outstanding score of 73.433, delivering a consistent and technically strong performance across all apparatus. His victory marks a significant achievement for the host state and underscores Odisha’s rising prominence in the sport.
