Baripada: In a heart-wrenching incident, a young child died after getting entangled in a makeshift swing at Jagannathi village under Udala police station in Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased has been identified as Satya Murmu, son of Durga Murmu of Jagannathi village.
According to reports, the boy was playing on a swing made from a saree tied to a tree in the family courtyard. Family members were busy with their household chores, assuming the child was safely playing. Tragically, the saree swing slipped and tightened around the child’s neck. By the time a family member noticed him hanging from the swing, it was too late. The child was immediately rushed to Udala Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The incident has sent shockwaves in the region, with locals expressing shock and grief over the unfortunate accident.
