Bhubaneswar: While 5-6 children are reporting at Capital Hospital daily in the last 10-15 days with symptoms having similarity to that of tomato flu, the situation is under control and nothing to be scared of, informed Capital Hospital Director Dr Laxmidhar Sahu.
“It’s something similar, though it’s not exactly like tomato flu. We are getting 5-6 patients who are small children. None of them is getting critical,” said Dr Sahu.
These patients have lesions in their mouths and suffer from itching all over their body, he added.
The Capital Hospital Director said that these patients get well within 2-4 days with normal treatment.
“These cases were also seen earlier and now after it being reported in the media, 2-3 more cases are being reported because of the spread of awareness. Every day we are sending some samples of suspect cases to RMRC (Regional Medical Research Centre) for testing. The situation as of now is under control and nothing to be scared of,” Dr Sahu said.
