Bhubaneswar/Khordha: Excise, Law and Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Sunday chaired a review meeting on the state of school education in the Chilika Assembly Constituency and stressed the need to improve academic standards and achieve a 100 per cent pass rate in high schools.

The meeting was held at the conference hall of Chilika Block, where the Minister reviewed the education system and academic performance of various schools in the constituency.

Issues including student attendance, teaching efficiency, quality of learning, examination preparedness and previous examination results were discussed in detail.

Harichandan directed officials and school authorities to identify the reasons behind poor examination results in schools where performance has remained unsatisfactory and take immediate corrective measures.

The meeting also discussed measures to improve students’ learning abilities, with special focus on subjects in which they face difficulties. The Minister stressed the need for additional teaching wherever required, regular practice sessions and assessments, and better coordination between teachers and students.

Harichandan advised officials, headmasters and headmistresses to ensure that every student gets adequate opportunities to develop according to their talent, potential and abilities. He also emphasised that no student should be deprived of education and called for sustained efforts to improve the overall examination results of schools in the Chilika Assembly Constituency.

Khordha District Education Officer Sonamika Ray, Chilika Block Chairperson Jyotsna Behera, Vice-Chairperson Arun Patnaik, Assistant Executive Engineer Madhusmita Tripathy, the Block Education Officer, headmasters and headmistresses, and all CRCCs attended the meeting.
