Class I Student Critically Injured Due To Alleged Torture By Seniors In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: In a horrific and unprecedented case of child abuse, a Class I student residing in the low-cost hostel of Toranipokhari Upper Primary School under Ghatagaon block in Keonjhar district has allegedly been tortured brutally by senior students.

According to the complaint, some students from Class IV allegedly subjected the minor boy to severe physical torture. They reportedly wrapped a polythene sheet around his private parts and set it on fire, causing serious injuries.

The victim, identified as Satya Munda, son of Biju Munda from Baidabaja village in Dumuria Panchayat, was immediately rushed to the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital where he is undergoing treatment in critical condition.

The victim’s father has lodged a formal complaint at Ghatagaon Police Station.
